Skyryse Expands SkyOS™ Technology to Airplanes

EL SEGUNDO, CA (October 13, 2025) – For nearly 10 years, we’ve been on a mission to make flying safe and accessible, and we’re still the only company focused on creating aircraft-agnostic technological solutions to make that future a reality.
When we were founded in 2016, we intentionally focused on deploying SkyOS™ on helicopters first because they are both inherently unstable and more complicated for pilots and automated systems to fly – a challenge that represents a superset of the engineering requirements needed for airplanes.
With Skyryse One™ in for-credit testing with the FAA, SkyOS installation on the Black Hawk underway, and installation on the Airbus H130 set to begin, we have an unparalleled advantage to scale our automation solution across the industry.
And now, after nearly a decade of engineering, testing, and collaboration with regulators, including the FAA, we’re officially installing SkyOS on airplanes.
Here’s a peek from our flight test facilities, where we successfully flew SkyOS technology on a Cirrus SR22, officially manifesting our universal vision for aviation safety.
We also signed a new agreement that offers to deliver uncrewed, attritable airplanes for U.S. military special operations. By installing SkyOS across King Air aircraft and other future models, we’re proving that our system delivers best-in-class autonomy and adaptability even in contested environments. This adds to our growing military backlog beyond the Black Hawk and further validates SkyOS as the universal operating system for flight.

“Technology is reshaping the battlefield, and with SkyOS integration into attritable airplanes, we can radically expand operational reach and kinetic effects in previously denied areas,” said Warren Curry, VP at Skyryse. “That reach changes everything. With an aircraft-agnostic design, SkyOS provides the military with a cost-effective, mission-ready system that enhances operational flexibility – unlocking force amplification. Our technology delivers a strategic advantage in contested environments, leveraging standoff capabilities to keep friendly forces safe from long-range threats.”
As the creator of SkyOS, the world's first universal operating system for flight, Skyryse creates hardware and software solutions focused on aviation automation and mission effectiveness. SkyOS replaces conventional, complex mechanical flight controls with an intelligent, integrated system that simplifies the management of any aircraft, while also offering operational flexibility for both piloted and unpiloted missions.
To date, Skyryse has secured partnerships for SkyOS integration across every major aviation sector – including the U.S. military, emergency medical service operators, law enforcement, private operators, including the largest firefighting agency in the world and international markets.
